Dear Democrats
this was not written by me, nor was it written by Liz Cheney as many have been quoting it to have been. It was written by: Dr Pru Lee.
Please stop mis-attributing it to Liz Cheney Pru posted it in a group called Liz Cheney/Adam Kinzinger Against Trump and some overzealous person attributed it to Lez Cheney for some reason.
Dear Democratic Party,
I need more from you.
You keep sending emails begging for $15, while we’re watching fascism consolidate power in real time.
This administration is not simply “a different ideology.”
It is a coordinated, authoritarian machine — with the Supreme Court, the House, the Senate, and the executive pen all under its control.
And you?
You’re still asking for decorum and donations. WTF.
That won’t save us.
I don’t want to hear another polite floor speech.
I want strategy.
I want fire.
I want action so bold it shifts the damn news cycle — not fits inside one.
Every time I see something from the DNC, it’s asking me for funds.
Surprise.
Those of us who donate don’t want to keep sending money just to watch you stand frozen as the Constitution goes up in flames — shaking your heads and saying,
“Well, there’s not much we can do. He has the majority.”
I call bullshit.
If you don’t know how to think outside the box…
If you don’t know how to strategize…
If you don’t know how to fight fire with fire…
what the hell are we giving you money for?
Some of us have two or three advanced degrees.
Some of us have military training.
Some of us know what coordinated resistance looks like — and this ain’t it.
Yes, the tours around the country? Nice.
The speeches? Nice.
The clever congressional clapbacks? Nice.
That was great for giving hope.
Now we need action.
You have to stop acting like this is a normal presidency that will just time out in four years.
We’re not even at Day 90, and look at the chaos.
Look at the disappearances.
Look at the erosion of the judiciary, the press, and our rights.
If you do not stop this, we will not make it 1,460 days.
So here’s what I need from you — right now:
⸻
1. Form an independent, civilian-powered investigative coalition.
I’m talking experts. Veterans. Whistleblowers. Journalists. Watchdog orgs.
Deputize the resistance. Build a real-time archive of corruption, overreach, and executive abuse.
Make it public. Make it unshakable.
Let the people drag the rot into the light.
If you can’t hold formal hearings, hold public ones.
If Congress won’t act, let the country act.
This isn’t about optics — it’s about receipts.
Because at some point, these people will be held accountable.
And when that day comes, we’ll need every name, every signature, every illegal order, every act of silence—documented.
You’re not just preserving truth — you’re preparing evidence for prosecution.
The more they vanish people and weaponize data, the more we need truth in the sunlight.
⸻
2. Join the International Criminal Court.
Yes, I said it. Call their bluff.
You cannot control what the other side does.
But you can control your own integrity.
So prove it. Prove that your party is still grounded in law, human rights, and ethical leadership.
Join.
If you’ve got nothing to hide — join.
Show the world who’s hiding bodies, bribes, and buried bank accounts.
Force the GOP to explain why they’d rather protect a war criminal than sign a treaty.
And while you’re at it, publicly invite ICC observers into U.S. borders.
Make this administration explain — on camera — why they’re terrified of international oversight.
⸻
3. Fund state-level resistance infrastructure.
Don’t just send postcards. Send resources.
Channel DNC funds into rapid-response teams, legal defense coalitions, sanctuary networks, and digital security training.
If the federal government is hijacked, build power underneath it.
If the laws become tools of oppression, help people resist them legally, locally, and boldly.
This is not campaign season — this is an authoritarian purge.
Stop campaigning.
Act like this is the end of democracy, because it is.
We WILL REMEMBER the warriors come primaries.
Fighting this regime should be your marketing strategy.
And let’s be clear:
The reason the other side always seems three steps ahead is because they ARE.
They prepared for this.
They infiltrated school boards, courts, local legislatures, and police unions.
They built a machine while you wrote press releases.
We’re reacting — they’ve been executing a plan for years.
It’s time to shift from panic to blueprint.
You should already be working with strategists and military minds on PROJECT 2029 —
a coordinated, long-term plan to rebuild this country when the smoke clears.
You should be publicly laying out:
• The laws and amendments you’ll pass to ensure this never happens again
• The systems you’ll tear down and the safeguards you’ll enshrine
• The plan to hold perpetrators of human atrocities accountable
• The urgent commitment to immediately bring home those sold into slavery in El Salvador
You say you’re the party of the people?
Then show the people the plan.
⸻
4. Use your platform to educate the public on rights and resistance tactics.
If they’re going to strip us of rights and lie about it — arm the people with truth.
Text campaigns. Mass trainings. Downloadable “Know Your Rights” kits. Multilingual legal guides. Encrypted phone trees.
Give people tools, not soundbites.
We don’t need more slogans.
We need survival manuals.
⸻
5. Leverage international media and watchdogs.
Stop hoping U.S. cable news will wake up.
They’re too busy playing both sides of fascism.
Feed the real stories to BBC, Al Jazeera, The Guardian, Reuters, Der Spiegel — hell, leak them to anonymous dropboxes if you have to.
Make what’s happening in America a global scandal.
And stop relying on platforms that are actively suppressing truth.
Start leveraging Substack. Use Bluesky.
That’s where the resistance is migrating. That’s where censorship hasn’t caught up.
If the mainstream won’t carry the truth — outflank them.
Get creative. Go underground. Go global.
If our democracy is being dismantled in broad daylight, make sure the whole world sees it — and make sure we’re still able to say it.
⸻
6. Create a digital safe haven for whistleblowers and defectors.
Not everyone inside this regime is loyal.
Some are scared. Some want out.
Build the channels.
Encrypted. Anonymous. Protected.
Make it easy for the cracks in the system to become gaping holes.
And while you’re at it?
Stop ostracizing MAGA defectors.
Everyone makes mistakes — even glaring, critical ones.
We are not the bullies.
We are not the ones filled with hate.
And it is not your job to shame people who finally saw the fire and chose to step out of it.
They will have to deal with that internal struggle — the guilt of putting a very dangerous and callous regime in power.
But they’re already outnumbered. Don’t push them back into the crowd.
We don’t need purity.
We need numbers.
We need people willing to burn their red hats and testify against the machine they helped build.
⸻
7. Study the collapse—and the comeback.
You should be learning from South Korea and how they managed their brief rule under dictatorship.
They didn’t waste time chasing the one man with absolute immunity.
They went after the structure.
The aides. The enforcers. The loyalists. The architects.
They knocked out the foundation one pillar at a time —
until the “strongman” had no one left to stand on.
And his power crumbled beneath him.
You should be independently investigating every author of Project 2025,
every aide who defies court orders,
every communications director repeating lies,
every policy writer enabling cruelty,
every water boy who keeps this engine running.
You can’t stop a regime by asking the king to sit down.
You dismantle the throne he’s standing on — one coward at a time.
⸻
Stop being scared to fight dirty when the other side is fighting to erase the damn Constitution.
They are threatening to disappear AMERICANS.
A M E R I C A N S.
And your biggest move can’t be another strongly worded email.
We don’t want your urgently fundraising subject lines.
We want backbone.
We want action.
We want to know you’ll stand up before we’re all ordered to sit down — permanently.
We are watching.
And I don’t just mean your base.
I mean millions of us who see exactly what’s happening.
I’ve only got 6,000 followers — but the groups I’m in? The networks I touch? Over a quarter million.
Often when I speak, it echoes.
But when we ALL
speak, it ROARS with pressure that will cause change.
We need to be deafening.
You still have a chance to do something historic.
To be remembered for courage, not caution.
To go down as the party that didn’t just watch the fall — but fought the hell back with everything they had.
But the clock is ticking.
And the deportation buses are idling.

Introduction
After my “Dear Democrats” letter, a lot of you sought me out to ask:
What comes next?
How do we organize?
How do we protect truth without losing ourselves?
I sat with those questions for a minute.
And today, I’m offering one possible answer—not THE answer, but AN answer.
TODAY I PRESENT AN IDEA, A MUSING, A THOUGHT… A SEED
Aligned with the first suggestion in my Dear Democrats letter:
“1. Form an independent, civilian-powered investigative coalition.
I’m talking experts. Veterans. Whistleblowers. Journalists. Watchdog orgs.

From Idea to Action:
The Independent Coalition for Democratic Integrity (ICDI)—A Model.
This document presents one possible model for organizing a decentralized, civilian-powered coalition dedicated to protecting democratic integrity, preserving public memory, and bearing witness to critical civic and political events.
It is not a mandate.
It is not a formal organization.
It is not a hierarchical structure.
It is a seed.
A map.
A possible way forward for those who refuse to let truth die quietly.
It is one way we might protect civic memory, public accountability, and truth itself when institutions falter.
It is offered freely.
The model was written and developed by me—Dr. Pru Lee (Pru Pru)—not to control, but to create possibility.
I am not planning to run a coalition.
I am planting a seed.
What grows from it is out of my hands, and into yours.
If you feel called, I will be posting the full model in parts—take what you want.
If you see the need, water it.
If you have your own visions, build upon it.
Either way, history will remember those who actively engaged in an effort to save democracy—not just those who survived an attempt to destroy it.
This is my contribution and I hope I am remembered for it.
The choice to use it, adapt it, build from it, or leave it behind belongs to the people.
Feel free to share widely.

THE WORK OF ICDI (If Built)
Suggested Structure for an Independent Coalition
ICDI is a proposed model for a decentralized, civilian-powered coalition focused on four pillars:
1. Truth Documentation
* Collect verifiable accounts of governmental overreach, democratic backsliding, civic harm, or threats to constitutional rights.
2. Protection of Witnesses and Voices
* Create safe pathways for whistleblowers, defectors, and citizens to share information without unlawful retaliation or public exposure.
3. Preservation of Civic Memory
* Maintain public, living archives that truthfully reflect this moment in history — accessible to citizens, future movements, and potential justice systems.
4. Recognition of Civic Stewardship
* Honor those individuals, organizations, and institutions doing the real work of defending democracy, truth, and civic life.
Core Principles Guiding the Coalition
* Volunteer-driven: Participation is voluntary, not conscripted.
* Nonpartisan: The only loyalty is to democratic integrity, not political parties.
* Nonviolent: Stewardship without warfare. Courage without cruelty.
* Decentralized: No single leader, no single point of failure.
* Transparent yet Protective: Truth exposed—vulnerable sources protected.
Suggested Roles Within a Future Coalition
1. Documentation Leads
Gather and verify evidence of civil rights violations, democratic backsliding, and overreach.
2. Whistleblower Protection Coordinators
Build safe encrypted channels and physical support networks for truth-tellers.
3. Civic Memory Archivists
Create, maintain, and decentralize secure public records of events and acts of resistance.
4. Public Communication Liaisons
Translate findings for public understanding, manage nonpartisan messaging.
5. Digital Security Team
Protect internal operations through encryption, cyber hygiene, and decentralized tech tools.
6. Legal and Ethics Advisors
Maintain compliance with free speech, assembly, and civic rights protections.
7. Community Outreach Builders
Link with grassroots, faith, educator, and local civic groups to broaden participation.
HOW ICDI COULD OPERATE
Example Operational Functions
These are examples only — offered to inspire, not dictate.
Coalitions built from this model could adapt them according to need.
Important Note:
All operations should remain explicitly nonpartisan.
The mission is to protect democracy, civic memory, human rights, and constitutional integrity—not to advance any political party, faction, or candidate.
1. Public Briefings and Updates
* Host weekly or biweekly public updates, virtual or in safe physical locations (preferably in sanctuary states or protected zones). These could also be disseminated through digital/social platforms (many are already doing this work ie. Dr. Heather Cox Richardson, MeidasTouch Network, Aaron Parnas, etc.) But a collection of these vetted resources easily accessible would be beneficial.
* Provide summarized public records of significant democratic violations, rights erosions, civil disinformation campaigns, and legislative overreaches.
* Act as a civilian "truth desk" for documenting real-time harm.
2. Whistleblower and Defector Channels
* Create encrypted, anonymous channels for whistleblowers, defectors, or citizens who wish to submit evidence without public exposure.
* Protect sources with legal assistance to ensure you are following the law, build a network of support, and as allowed by law, secure physical relocation partners when necessary.
3. Civic Memory and Public Archives
* Maintain a decentralized secure digital archive of evidence, statements, and verified public events.
* Duplicate critical files in multiple secure locations (cloud, external drives, offline libraries) to resist unauthorized access, censorship, or deletion.
* Translate important documents into multiple languages for broader public accessibility.
4. Rapid Response Documentation Teams
* Develop small volunteer teams capable of quickly documenting: protests for more accurate counts/historical memory, evidence of crackdowns, disappearances, historical memory/documentation of court rulings, or executive overreach. AND importantly, WHO STOOD FOR DEMOCRACY and who did not. (ie. Only two democratic congressmen have filed articles of impeachment, Schumer and 8 other other democrats voted to pass the CR when the people loudly called for a shutdown, many Republicans have broken their oath to the Constitution, refusal to obey court orders, refusal of humane, ethical, and moral behavior like providing proof of life for families who’s loved ones were deported to El Salvador etc.—They should be named so history can remember).
* Partner with media watchdogs, lawyers, and human rights organizations for on-the-ground verification and amplification.
* Develop volunteer teams ready to document incidents of democratic harm to citizens:
* suppression of rights
* unlawful arrests
* denial of due process
* censorship
* intimidation
* bribes and unethical behavior
* threats to democratic order—regardless of which party or group commits them
* These teams would act quickly to gather verifiable evidence when citizens are:
* detained without cause
* denied legal representation
* punished without trial
* stripped of their constitutional protections
Partner with trusted legal, journalistic, and human rights organizations with a proven nonpartisan record to validate and amplify findings.
If a situation arises in which the DOJ refuses to act—if it becomes compromised, corrupted, or too cowardly to uphold the law—then the people must become the archivists of truth.
We need a coalition of watchers and witnesses—legal experts, journalists, organizers, technologists—working together to:
• Collect, verify, and store evidence of constitutional violations
• Maintain a living repository of misconduct and abuse
• Ensure records can’t be buried, rewritten, or erased
This coalition doesn’t just document for history—it builds a bank of evidence that state-level Attorneys General and civil rights lawyers can tap into when the federal government won’t act.
For example, if a situation warrants that the DOJ prosecute under 18 U.S.C. § 241 or § 242 but it refuses, this documentation and evidence repository could still be used so:
• States can still file civil cases
• Families can still sue
• Records can still surface
• justice can still breathe — even in hostile air
The work of accountability isn’t always loud—but it is lasting. And this model, if built, could serve as a ledger of courage in a time of collapse

Public Education and Rights Training
Launch coordinated, public-facing campaigns to arm citizens with real, practical knowledge of their rights—especially in a time when misinformation and fear are being weaponized.
This isn’t just about awareness.
It’s about survival knowledge.
About showing up with the law in your mouth and calm in your posture.
Because panic gets people disappeared.
But clarity? Clarity protects.
Campaigns should include:
• Educational Know Your Rights guides (printable and digital), written in plain, accessible language—no legalese
• Educational video explainers for social platforms offering guidance on what to say, what to do, and when to ask for help
• Educational roleplay scripts and scenario checklists: crossing a border, being pulled aside at customs, traffic stops, protests, or other high-risk public moments
• Targeted guides for vulnerable groups: immigrants, students, disabled individuals, journalists, LGBTQ+ folks, activists, and people of color
(For example, think of the Green Book—a travel guide created during the Jim Crow era that helped Black Americans safely navigate a country filled with sundown towns, segregated spaces, and unsafe environments. Horrifyingly, these towns still exist today. The Green Book offered a guide to safe lodging, food, fuel, and passage—not just directions but protection. That’s the kind of resource I’m talking about.)
Key Topics That Might Be Covered and Possible Examples
(These examples are suggestions only and should not be taken as legal advice. Laws change, and every situation is different. Seek legal counsel if you need specific guidance.)
Example 1: Your Rights in International and Border Crossings
• U.S. citizens have the right to know why they’re being questioned
• Customs and Border Protection (CBP) can ask:
– Your name and citizenship
– Where you traveled from and to
• They cannot legally require you to:
– State your political beliefs
– Express support for specific officials (e.g., the president)
Reminder:
Political opinions are not a legal basis for detention or denial of entry.
Example 2: Privacy Best Practices for Device Management
Travelers and citizens should understand that CBP may inspect digital devices at the border without a warrant, under the “border search exception” to the Fourth Amendment.
These privacy best practices are widely recommended by cybersecurity experts and legal rights organizations. They are not about evasion—they are about protection, preparation, and peace of mind:
• Disable biometric unlock features like facial recognition or fingerprints before travel
• Use a strong alphanumeric passcode for added protection
• Limit sensitive data stored on your device in case it is lost or stolen
• Consider traveling with a secondary phone that does not contain your full digital footprint
• Log out of cloud services or use two-factor authentication with a physical key
• Label your devices clearly in case they are separated from you
If your device is seized:
• Ask whether you are being detained or under arrest
• Request documentation: a receipt listing your device’s make, model, serial number, and agent contact info
• Record badge numbers and times if possible
• U.S. citizens cannot be denied re-entry for refusing to unlock their phone, though it may be temporarily held
• Visa holders and permanent residents should consult legal support before traveling, as different rules may apply
Example 3: Free Speech and Civic Expression
• You have the right to speak critically of government officials and policies—in public, online, and through protest
– As long as your speech does not incite violence or make credible threats against others.
• Artists, celebrities, and civilians alike can express dissent without legal retaliation
• Example: Bruce Springsteen’s speech is protected—even if the president doesn’t like it
• If someone makes threats or incites violence against you, you also have legal recourses
Example 4: Police Encounters and Detainment
• You may always ask:
– “Am I being detained?”
– “What am I being accused of?”
– “Am I free to go?”
• You have the right to remain silent
• You have the right to request an attorney
• You may ask officers to provide their name and badge number—and in most jurisdictions, they are required to do so
• You are legally required to follow lawful police orders. Failing to do so can result in arrest or additional charges
• The tone you use can matter. Calm, respectful responses are often met with the same energy—though not always
• Escalated actions or speech are almost always met with escalated force, so it is important to center safety and de-escalation whenever possible
Example 5: Suggested First Line of Defense
Teach people to calmly say:
“I know my rights. Can you tell me under what authority you’re making this request?”
That sentence may be a shield.
It could disrupt escalation.
It could recenter power.
It might remind both parties that there are still rules—even in moments of fear.
The takeaway?
These examples provide suggestions for important topics currently on the minds of many Americans today.
Feel free to adapt.
Lastly, educational guides and courses could also:
* Offer encrypted communications training for activists, journalists, and civilians.
* Host digital media literacy sessions teaching people how to spot propaganda, deepfakes, and political disinformation.
These suggested educational courses/guides are about readiness.
And readiness is a form of protection.
