• Trump rescinded sanctions that Biden began imposing on extremist Israeli settlers and settler groups in the occupied West Bank nearly one year ago. The last administration's executive order was in response to a surge in attacks on Palestinians and their property in the territory.

• Trump has directed the secretary of the interior to change the name of the Gulf of Mexico to the "Gulf of America".

• The same order also directed the secretary to rename Alaska's Mount Denali to Mount McKinley - in honor of America's 25th president admired by Trump.

• Cancellation of the “CBP One” mobile application for asylum seekers. Under the Biden administration, the app was the primary way for people to make an appointment at a U.S. point of entry to seek asylum. The Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) removal of the app canceled long-awaited appointments for 30,000 people and leaves no avenue for people stranded in Mexico waiting to seek asylum. NIJC is challenging the existence of two Biden era rules that were justified by the existence of CBP One and will be arguing that the termination of that program makes those rules even more unlawful.

• Increased use of the death penalty, including for capital crimes committed by undocumented immigrants.

• Trump has fired 17 inspectors general at multiple government agencies, a move that clears the way to replace independent watchdogs with loyalists.\

• One of the executive orders signed by Trump said that expressing a "gender identity" different from an individual's sex at birth did not meet military standards. Transgender rights groups have filed a lawsuit against the order.

• U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has promised to bring major changes to the Pentagon. Reuters has previously reported about the possibility of mass firing among top brass, something Hegseth repeatedly refused to rule out during his confirmation hearings. It's unclear what, if any, role Donald Trump's administration may have played in their release, but one of Trump's top envoys is said to have raised the case with Romania's Foreign Minister Emil Hurezeanu at a security conference in Munich earlier this month. When asked about the Tates at the White House on Thursday, President Trump said: "I know nothing about that." But the brothers have been the subject of recent high-level discussions between the US and Romania. Unauthorized disclosure violates 26 U.S. Code § 7213, making it a felony offense punishable by up to five years in prison, a $5,000 fine, and mandatory termination of employment for federal employees involved.

• Trump Lie: Trump said March 13: "In the case of Canada, we're spending $200 billion a year to subsidize Canada."

• Reality: Trump has repeatedly exaggerated the U.S.-Canada trade deficit which is closer to $35.7 billion, according to the latest trade data released from the U.S. Census Bureau on March 6. The overwhelming driver of the deficit with Canada is that the U.S. buys a lot of unrefined oil from Canada. If you take out energy, Canada is running a small deficit with the United States.

Dairy

• Trump Lie: Trump said on March 7: "In Canada, we find that they're charging us over 200% for dairy products"

• Reality: The over 200% tariffs on U.S. dairy products are only triggered if U.S. dairy exports exceed certain yearly duty-free limits, and U.S. dairy manufacturers say they have never been close to exceeding these limits. These tariffs were negotiated during the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement, which Mr. Trump signed during his first term.

Fentanyl
